I also prepared a Handbook on the ‘Conduct of Personal Injury Cases in Scotland’ which set out the Scottish Rules of Court, as well as procedures and general guidance on the calculation of the heads of damages. I spoke at seminars for client’s claims handlers, and also their lawyers from other jurisdictions. I acted for the German Automobile Association and at their request spoke at a Conference in Trier, Germany, on the unification of the law relating to liability and damages in the EU.

During my career I developed strong analytical and problem solving skills. I prepared detailed reports for the boards of clients and their senior managers and partners. I was involved in helping clients to deliver and implement development change plans, and to formulate policy implementation.

I worked not only on my own but also as part of a team, involving lawyers from other jurisdictions, other lawyers in my office ― sometimes from different disciplines ― and personnel from clients’ organisations. As a consequence I am experienced in managing a project and helping to achieve its successful implementation.
